Collectly - Request Files lets your team request documents and files from external clients directly from a Jira issue — even when the client does not have a Jira account.

What Collectly does

Collectly adds a Request Files panel to Jira issues. You create a request, add the files you need as checklist items, and send the client a secure link. The client uploads the files through that link, and Collectly automatically adds the uploaded files to the same Jira issue's Attachments.

You also get internal Jira comments so your team can see what was requested and when files were uploaded.

Typical use case

For example, you need a client's tax documents:

  1. Open the client's Jira issue.
  2. Create a request called 2025 tax return documents.
  3. Add the documents you need to the checklist.
  4. Send the generated secure link to the client.
  5. The client opens the link without signing in to Jira and uploads the files.
  6. The files automatically appear in the Jira issue's attachments.

Quick start

1. Open a Jira issue

Open the issue where you want the client's files to be collected.

2. Open Collectly

Find the Collectly - Request Files panel in the main / left area of the issue dialog (for example issue CL-8). It shows tabs Build a request / Active Requests. Jira's native Details, Development, More fields stay in the right column.

3. Build your request

Add a request title, client details, optional description and due date, then create checklist items for the files you need.

4. Send the request
